The SchoolRiver website was build to support the marketing and sales processes for the APX platform which was designed to streamline and enhance various administrative processes in K-12 educational institutions. It offers a suite of modules under the APX platform, focusing on automating and simplifying attendance tracking, event management, and document handling.

What is SchoolRiver APX

Describing a platform as the APX is not really easy because it is one of its kind. The main idea was that it enhanced three important segments of any school setup, the existing student data, the attendance handling, and the reporting tools.

Overall, SchoolRiver’s goal is to improve the efficiency and accuracy of school administrative functions, enabling staff to focus more on student engagement and eliminate paperwork.

Usual SchoolRiver Setup

The platform is made up of multiple applications with as many use scenarios. There were total of nine applications, web, desktop and mobile, which were designed to be used by students, teachers, and school administrative staff. To get a better understanding we created this isomorphic map which shows when and where the apps are used. With each scenario there is a information popup that offers a greater explanation for that specific use-case.

The APX Suite

The APX suite refers mainly to the desktop and mobile applications in the SchoolRiver APX ecosystem. These are the applications that are used by the school staff to record student movement throughout the school. This section was designed, and later enhanced to show 9 applications in a way that makes clear the application’s job and how it’s used. Each app is represented by it’s icon, title and short description.

APX Product Page

The APX app product pages were one of the most important pages on this website. Each page is giving the visitor a preview of the app, a brief overview, a list of features and benefits, and then listing all important features with a detailed explanation including screenshots and videos. Each page ends with list of the other apps in the APX suite, but also gives you the ability to go to the “next product” via the navigation arrows which show up in the hero section of the page.

Coming Soon Products

Not all products are in the “finished phase”, but that doesn’t mean that we did not want to share the details about them. Even though they did not have a separate product page (since they were mostly in development and features and ui were prety “fluid”) they did have a separate popup that offered details like a brief description and typical use cases.

Additionally, at the bottom of the popup there was an email field so the interested parties could leave their email so they can be informed when the product launches.

Schedule a Demo

To lock it in, the contact page was a really simple and straight to the point. You either want to contact us or schedule a demo. We opened all kinds of communication channels, including phone, email, Twitter, Facebook and later Linkedin.

The Request a demo form made it easy for potential buyers to pick the products they were interested in, leave their personal and school details. A well designed email “thank you” message was sent on our behalf, and from this point on the job was in the sales department.
